A common paper shopping bag was the inspiration for this acrylic painting. I wanted to branch out and do something abstract, so I started with a set up of various shopping bags under a strong light and took a photo. The photo was then cropped, manipulated and reproduced at two different angles on two 12 x 9-inch canvas panels. The two panels were then mounted on an 18 x 24 x 2-inch gallery-wrapped canvas, which was first prepared with the background painting. This painting is in the current Frederick County Art Association exhibit at the Delaplaine Visual Arts Education Center.
