A trip to Knoxville led me to this busy street scene outside the historic Tennessee Theater. I took a photograph and loved the moment I captured–twilight time with street lamps looking misty in the June humidity. The light was dancing off the American flags, and everything seemed to have a glow. I was intrigued by the diverse cast of characters. I wonder about each individual’s story, their pursuits and destinations, separate in that moment in time, but now united forever in this painting.
